Tested on Canon EOS 5D MarkII Camera was in AV mode, ISO 50, focused by AF and switched to MF, 2sec timer, IS off, tripod.

conclusion: 70-200 sucks badly @ f2.8, perhaps wrong piece (wouldnt expect that from L lens though?)
